Some Success!

Today i successfully got him down for a nap in his toddler bed. 1st time! he's doing better and getting used to his bed. i don't think i can even put him back in his crib. Which is a good thing in a way i guess. I still lie down next to him but i think it's getting shorter. The first few days i'd lay there for 45 minutes. But now it's down to a half hour. I'm so excited. Even though this means he is a big boy now!

We are getting ready for his friend/family party this weekend and celebrating his birthday. Can't believe he is going to be 2 years old. We'll post pictures later!

Our Big Boy!

So this week, Jordon has decided that he doesn't like his crib. He has constantly been trying to climb out of it and not sleep in it, for the most part. We started to train him in his toddler bed, whoever says it is easy, is lying! I feel like i have to sleep train him all over again. He is hysterical if i leave him in his room with a baby gate up. I have been trying to get him in it for naps but my patience level is at 20 minutes and then i put him in the crib even with him screaming. It's not a pretty picture but he falls asleep eventually. He likes his toddler bed at night but Chris and I have to tag team him in, me on one side him on the other so he won't try to run away. Wednesday night he fell asleep in there with me laying on the floor singing him songs and pretending to sleep. Last night Chris sang to him and I think he enjoys Daddy's singing much better, it seems to calm him down more.

The first night was weird, I snuck out before he was all the way asleep and when i went back in to see how he was, he was asleep on the floor. That night went ok, but he only got about 9 hours sleep and was a tyrant the next day. But last night went much better he got 10 hours. We got cute Cars sheets for his bed and he really likes his bed, it's just a matter of him being trained to stay in it.

He is a highly sensitive child so i guess the only way we can do it, is to do what we did with him before when sleep training. Lay down and pretend to sleep and each night make it shorter and shorter so hopefully he can just go to his room and settle down himself.

Any advice is welcome, I'm hoping to get this boy trained in a couple of months, i'm not in the mood to lay down with him when i'm 7 months along. It's already not that fun. We'll post again, we are excited about his birthday coming up. We're going to have a few nursery buddies over and see how that goes!

Toddler Bed

On Saturday, we went to Jeremy and Laura's house to have a look at their toddler bed that they weren't going to use. We've been trying to use the bottom mattress of the trundle bed but it seemed like it was way too big for him and intimidating. he liked it but just didn't seem to fit his needs. So before Jordon's nap Daddy and him assembled the bed and I think it'll work out a lot better. We even ordered some new bedding for him for his birthday, so we're improvising for now with a big sheet for the mattress. Here are some pictures to mark this special day! He's growing up, i'm nervous for him to transfer on over, long gone will be the days of him being safe and confined in his crib. He'll have mobility in his room, we'll see how he does.

Sorry, i put the pictures in backwards, but i hope you enjoy them. Hope everyone is doing ok with daylight savings, i know today was torture for us, or i should say jordon. He is still trying to fall asleep, it's 9:30 almost. He had a late nap i didn't anticipate. 5:30-6:15 pm. We were mean parents and had to wake him up to hope for a decent bedtime. He collapsed in pure exhaustion in my arms, i couldn't do anything about it. Good thing Gramma and Grampa weren't here, wasn't a pretty picture until about 8 tonight. But we did our best and put him in bed around 8:45. Everyone pray for my sanity tomorrow! Poor guy, today was not a good day. Good night everyone!

I figured that since it's been about a month i should probably do another blog. It's been pretty low key around here, nothing too big has happened. I'm almost 18 weeks along right now, so i'm feeling pretty good, except for this nasty cold i got/sore throat. I'm hoping it gets better soon, and isn't tonsiitis or something. My family is pretty susceptible to it or strep throat. But i'm doing pretty good. Had my dr appt today and i took Jordon with me this time. We got to hear the heartbeat, sounds good--155 beats per minute. Jordon wasn't quite sure what was going on but he had a big smile on his face the whole time! It was quite a challenge keeping him out of trouble and also entertained while we waited for the dr. He's very busy so we waited for a good 45 minutes to see him. But he is a good dr and we like him. Chris is planning on coming to the ultrasound in April so it'll be nice to have us both there to entertain jordon.

Chris is keeping busy like always with work, church, and family life. He is doing well in his calling with the new YM's leadership. We are just looking forward to April. It seems like everything happens in APril. We have a lot of birthdays; JOrdon's, and a few others on my side, our anniversary, and my sister is due to have her baby that month. Along with us having our sonagram. We think it's a girl but we'll see.

Sorry, we don't have any pictures, just wanted to let everyone know that we are alive. We'll post some for sure for April! We sure enjoy checking everyone's blogs, we'll try to comment more!

Take care!
