Update of Chiropractic Work!

Our chiropractic work has been going very well these past two weeks, so good that Jordon's head shape has improved 5 fold. We go Monday thru Thursday to Frisco and she's able to massage and mold his head and able to adjust his back and head to be able to get rid of the head tilt and him looking to one side all the time. We're only in for about 10-15 minutes a visit but the at home massaging techniques that she teaches me is what has been helping a lot. I rock Jordon to sleep and massage his head for 10 minutes each time.

It makes me feel good when Dr. Shelton recognizes the at home work, she mentions she can tell who does it and who doesn't. I'm just trying to do what is best for him. It was a rough pregnancy, we actually could've lost him since it was a high risk pregnancy, and so he's a miracle in our family. Just want to do whatever is best for him. So we have one more week left of treatment and he should be fine. No helmet for our "JOR JOR".

Grandma Alleman came with us to the appointment today and to celebrate him being a good boy, he got his first carasol ride at stonebrier mall. He was a little confused at first, didn't know what to think, but then he got a big smile on his face! He had a lot of fun, but of course i think he got a little dizzy, he spit up after wards. oh well! it was worth it to see his face light up.
Jordon is down to 2 naps a day now since if i gave him three, he wouldn't go to bed until 10 or so and sleep in til that time. so he takes one short nap in the morning and then a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon. So i pretty much have to feed him all day up to that point to stock him up for that nap. But it gives me time in the afternoon to get many things done around the house.
Chris went to a job fair last night and had a good time getting more contacts and networking. They emphasized the importance of a masters degree, so he's thinking within a year to start up school again, so we'll see how that goes. It seems like a bachelors degree doesn't cut it these days as it used to back a few years ago. But that is his plan, i think he wants to continue on in the accounting field for the masters, a bean counter at heart! Someone has to do the job!

I haven't done anything too interesting lately, i've been taking care of Jordon a lot, and working on my calling. I'm in charge of the next fast sunday lesson for the YW, so i need to do that, and preparing for next year calenders. We had a meeting here last night outlining what the upcoming events are and how we can help some of the YW. They are all very sweet girls, a lot of them do have struggles and some don't come at all. So we hope to somehow get them more involved next year. It's a good calling, i struggle a little bit in it with different personality clashes or opinions, but all in all, i love working with the leaders and the youth.

Well, here are some updated pictures of Jordon, i took some head shots, a lot of you won't recognize the progress, you kindof have to be here to have noticed. But i'm just so excited about his progress, and he has been more active and more mobile since treatment has begun. So, here you go, enjoy! hope to talk to you more often.

Take care!

State Fair!

Chris, Jordon, and I were able to go to the great Texas state Fair a little while ago for the first time for all of us. It was a lot of fun. It started off great, we were there while the sun was shining and we were able to first go to the Discovery Gardens with beautiful flowers and lots of butterflies. They were everywhere!

Jordon was quite the trooper. We packed in a lunch and lots of bottled water since everything there is so expensive. He normally won't take cold formula but he was hungry enough to drink it. From the gardens we went to the parade tent where there were all of these floats we were able to look at. I'm not sure which parade they were in, but there were some pretty cool looking ones.

We walked around a lot and went to as many free things as we could. We were in a lot of indoor things because it started to rain pretty bad. We went to a cooking show hosted by ikea, looked around at the different art exhibits in the creative arts Building, got free ice cream, and enjoyed the day as much as we could with it being rainy. I was able to have my first ever funnel cake! Simply divine! I don't know how i deprived myself of such a great dessert. Another place we were able to go to was the Sand Coloseum. Jordon was so excited to see marinet puppets of kitties and puppies! He got a kick out of it and was giggling so much! of course i didnt get a picture of it but if you know how excited little boys get around moving objects i'm sure you can imagine how cute it was!

The only bad thing about going to the state fair is that it's very noisy and not the best place for a 6 month old. He liked the fair, but it got to be pretty miserable with the rain and he was never able to take a nap until we left and got in the car. We got there around 10 and he slept til 11 but after that he didn't get a nap until after 3. of course he went to bed really early but i don't like putting jordon through those kind of days. it's very rough on him. Some people were a bit rude in the cooking show too. People didn't like him crying or babbling even if it was only a little bit. So that was a bit annoying. But all in all the fair was a good adventure for us. We're hoping to go next year too and it'll be better since Jordon will be older.

Chiropractic Work Here We Come!

Well, i know i always update mostly only about Jordon, but he's been a great influence in our family. Chris and I have been worried about Jordon and with his flat spot on his head. We've been planning on going to a craniologist for him to be in a helmet band to help, but we've changed our mind for right now. We've been talking to a few people in the ward about it, and the YW President's husband is going to chiropractic school right now and he recommended just going to a chiropractor to help with it. If you think about it it is quite true how a lot of problems can be solved by a chiropractor. He even said that there should be a chiropractor in every So we're going to a chiropractor in Frisco and she said he's a moderate case, has a head tilt, and has his spine that gets off sync. So everytime we go in she adjusts down by his pelvic bone and up by his neck and then massages his head and does different techniquies to help with his had shape. She gives us homework for Chris and I to do and tells us the more we massage and touch his head the more he'll get used to it and with all of us working on it for the next little while, his tilt should be gone and his head should be seeing improvement with the rounding. Today she said it's looking better and you can see a bump on the flat side which means it's being improved and that it's growing outward again. We go in 4 days a week for the next 3 weeks to have it worked on. So we're praying that this will be very helpful, so far it's doing a miraculous job. A lot more work is needed but i'm beginning to really apreciate chiropractors.

The End to Nursing

Well, I'm afraid that Jordon is done nursing. I tried to have him nurse again, but he got too used to the bottle. He kindof nursed but with his sharp teeth coming, and him biting all day after i told him no several times, i guess i decided that was that. It was a little sad, but we are doing just fine, it's almost better that he's on the bottle, it gives me a break from always having to feed him and worrying about missing a feeding. Daddy is able to do a lot of the feeding on the weekends and in the evenings. He's getting accustomed to a sippy cup. It's not the actual sippy cup, it is the nuby 3 step feeding system where it accustoms them to it. First it starts off as a bottle and then has two other tops that graduate up to a sippy cup. It's pretty neat. He's weaned off but i'm still trying to end the nursing for my needs. i pump a little at night and then go til the following night and i sleep on my belly as much as possible to help slow down everything. It's working out pretty good and am actually feeling pretty good about this step. Jordon is growing bigger and bigger and has been on a big growing spurt. He's been dealing with a cold but is feeling much better. Still a little congested but it might be due to his teething and the bad pollen we have this year. But everything is going well, just making an update. Take care!

A Second Tooth!

So today while i was at the store, Jordon was a little fussy and so i rubbed his gums and i found another tooth popping up! So now Jordon has two teeth emerging, don't know how soon they'll come in all the way but they are a coming. Just like his daddy.

Today i've also been trying to nurse again, so far its not doing good, wish me luck! it might be the end of nursing, i don't know! If it is the end, then at least i can say i did nurse him for the recommended 6 months.

He's also been drinking water lately too, he loves his water! So wish us luck

Jordon's Appt

Well, things went well for Jordon's 6 month appointment. He is now 16 lbs 12.5 oz and 26 inches long. The doctor said he's doing well even though on the charts he is at a stopping point for growing but within a few weeks he'll be getting bigger. He's enjoying his food a lot, i've been giving him water to help him with digesting the solids since he's been constipated lately. and he loves water. I gave him 3 oz of water last night and he drank it up so well. This week we're buying a sippy cup to introduce him to that. The only thing the doctor did say was that we should go to a craniologist since Jordon's right side is a bit flat and so we need to see if we can fix that either by different sleeping positions or by getting a band for him to correct it. I know research says to not put babies on their tummy to sleep because of the risk of sids but i think he should be ok with it at least during his naps during the day. i check on him a lot and he does just fine. at night time i'm now putting him in the sleep positioner thing i used when he was little to try to keep his head from tilting to his favored side. Cross your fingers we don't have to get him a band or a helmet. Jordon is now going to 2 naps a day. He goes down around 7-8 at night, wakes up around 5 am, goes back to sleep until 8 and then takes his first nap around 10:30 and then his afternoon nap is from 2-4:30. He likes to see and play with many things.

I'm feeling much better, the dr today said that my ear infection is gone and that its all better, but that i might have allergies right now, its pretty bad here in texas this year. so i have to put nose drops in. but other than that we're doing good. Chris and i are quite busy with life but doing good. We enjoyed General Conference this weekend, we were able to have Mom and Dad and Kacey and Megan come over in between the sessions on Sunday to have a little linner. We sure enjoyed all the talks and hope you did too. It's always an adjustment with a new prophet, but Monson is doing a great job. We hope you're all doing well, sorry we didn't call, happy birthday to Ellen and Allison! Take care!

Jordon's Half Birthday!

Today marks a very special day, Jordon is officially 6 months old. How time flies. We celebrated last night by going to the mall and using our baby gap gift card to get him a 6-12 month hoodie. He fits in it, it's a bit big but that's good. He didn't go to bed til almost 10 so it's been a rough day, he's been napping quite a bit. i'm going to play mean mom and make him go down early tonight, by at lastest 8:30. But he's doing good, sitting up more, playing and being more interactive with everyone around him. We went visiting teaching today and he got to have a play date with a girl that's a month younger than him. I'm glad he's a happy baby, he didn't even care when she stole his rattle.
He's teething pretty good these days, the first tooth is slowly coming, it did break surface though, so it won't be long until his first tooth is here. He's been enjoying his solids, i've cut it back to one meal a day because he was getting a little constipated, but now he's doing better. He's just eating oatmeal and sweet potatoes. He loves his sweet potatoes!
He received some blocks today from his Grandma Gallis and is having a ball with them. He mostly likes to slobber on them but eventually he'll stack them on top of each other.
Tomorrow is his checkup and more shots so he won't be feeling too good this weekend. But he's a big trooper. I finished off my medicine today so i'm going to try to start breastfeeding again next week. He is getting used to the bottle so i hope it doesn't confuse him, but i think im going to have him weaned off completely around 8 months. I actually didn't mind not nursing. I miss it a little but it wasn't as bad as i thought. So when or if he starts nursing, i think i'll start weaning him little by little. Just introduce 1 bottle feeding each day for a couple weeks and gradually increase the bottle feedings. We'll see how it goes. But i am feeling much better, my ear isn't as tender now. Hopefully the dr on monday will say that it's all better, im not in any mood to go see a specialist.
But here are some recent pictures of Jor Jor, as we call him. Enjoy, hope to hear from you all later on!
Love you!
