Sunday Pictures

Here are some cute sunday pictures we took this morning. We styled Jordon's hair with gel and hairspray to go with his hair cut. He looks so handsome! All of his "lady friends" at church love to see him and he always has to flirt back, and now with this hair cut, i might have to keep him away, he's just too cute! He's still napping right now so i thought i'd put in a blog entry(sundays we actually put him down after church, he gets a better longer nap in), he goes to sleep around 9 on sundays, which is pretty late for him, but he makes up his lost sleep on monday, so it's all good. It just gets kindof hectic now that Chris isn't really able to ring the first two bells, he has to get ready for teaching the deacons each sunday. But at least the nursery leaders don't mind watching Jordon when he gets to be too much of a handful, and he loves the toys in there! Well, here's the pictures!

We just love having daddy on sunday mornings and riding to church in one car. It's been two years and we almost forgot what it was like to ride all together as a family. As you can see, Jordon loves his daddy, he is attached to him all weekend! We'll be in MT this week and next, so we'll make sure to blog about that as soon as we can. Have a good week everyone!

Walking!

That's right, Jordon knows how to walk now! He only does it every now and then but he makes anywhere from 1-7 steps or so. He'll take my hand and walk with me for a little bit and then go back to crawling and cruising. He just started to learn how to do it, so crawling is still his main mode of transportation, but at least he knows he can do it, he just has to get more confident and more stable as he goes. We are so proud of our "big boy". I think he's been working hard at it this week because he wants to show off to Grandma Gallis next week when we get to MT. We'll post a video as soon as we get one of him doing it. First a haircut, now this, what happened to my little baby boy?

Chris gets so excited to come home and see him make steps, he just wants to see him walking all the time, but it's so sad because when Chris gets home, Jordon is already tired and isn't too willing to cooperate too much. He will do it a little bit but he gets frustrated too.

We are very excited to go to MT, I'm a little stressed about the packing and all and wondering how the trip will go with a toddler who just discovered even more how great it is to be mobile. I'm hoping he'll sleep alot on the trip since i have to wake him up an hour and a half earlier than normal. I'm going to try to be calm the day of the trip since he picks up alot on how I feel. So if i feel calm than he might too.

Nothing too much else is happening, just trying to get everything done before next week. Tomorrow i'm going to the Dollar Store to find some cool new cheap toys for the trip to entertain Jordon. Hope everyone is doing well, we will post a video shortly.

Jordon's First Haircut!

This weekend was a sad but exciting one, we decided that we should cut Jordon's hair! I know, I know, that would mean he'd go from being our baby to a "real boy!" His hair was getting so shaggy and long and after the 4th of July 5K run after someone asked how old "she " was, i knew it was close to time to cut his hair. But seriously, Jordon doesn't even look like a girl, but i guess with the cute curly q in the back and his hair blowing all over the place, someone from a distance might get confused.

On Saturday, we put him in his highchair with some snacks and watching a Baby Einstein video on the computer to keep him occupied. He actually did quite well, he squirmed a bit and after a while he was wondering what i was doing with that cool looking comb and scissors. But he was pretty patient for the most part. So i cut most of his hair on saturday and then this morning i did a little more to get rid of the excess hair. He looks so cute, all grown up :(

Here's actually a picture from the 4th of July, I don't know if i put it in or not. Can't you see how close Jordon looks like his Daddy?!

Before the haircut! See, I told you it was pretty long and crazy! As you can probably already guess he's quite into the movie already!
Wondering what is going on, what a cheese ball!

Snip, Snip, Snip! :(
But LOOKING GOOD! And still snacking!
Hmm, i feel much better!
My hair is all gone!
My barber, isn't she the best!
I like the camera and the camera likes me!
Sunday morning after my mom styled my freshly cut hair. I hope Matilda isn't at church, she might think I'm really cute!
I love Sundays, i wish Gramma was here though!
Practicing my Yoga moves! I hear it runs in the family. Beth does it too!

Peek a boo!

My New Goal

I thought i would take a break from talking about Jordon, even though it is so much fun. Motherhood is such a great thing, but you also have to be your own individual. The past year or so has been difficult with trying to find myself all over again. You get swept away by this new individual in your family, and it seems that that is your main focus, from day 1, you wake up and have this baby to take care of, diapering, feeding, napping, teaching, etc, etc. So i have made a new goal, and hobby for myself.

So this week I have finally decided in order to keep myself motivated with exercising, i would join a gym. Chris and I have been trying to fit in a time where we can both work out together, but it has never happened. Jordon's schedules would change or he'd wake up early. So Chris works out in the morning still with running and other various exercises he would like to do, while im going in the evenings to The Recreation Center in The Colony. I checked out a few gyms in the area, but they were so expensive with putting down a membership fee and then the membership cost each month. The Rec Center is a flat $50 for the year, which is only about $4 a month. They have a few treadmills, elipticals, bikes, and circuit and free weights. I have become a bum lately and decided that i really do need to get out and get back into shape. Going to the park every day isn't cutting it.

Today we went to a different park, 5 Star Park, and walked once around it, which is about a mile. Jordon enjoyed the different view and I got my exercise in for the day. I figure i can walk around that park on Monday and Wednesday mornings since the evenings won't work for going to the gym(FHE and Mutual). Oh, ya, Chris was called as the 2nd counselor in the YM, so he will be going to mutal from now on. He's unofficially released as the ward executive secretary position, where he did such a wonderful job. Thanks Chris for all your hard work!

Back to my schedule, I will be at the gym on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday evenings, and saturday i might just shoot some hoops in the back yard and do a work out video. I think sundays we'll just do family walk and call it good. So that's my plan, I'm doing pretty good this week of working out, just got to keep it up.

I haven't done a play group in a few weeks, but that is something else I try to do to help Jordon be around others and for me to chill with other moms so i don't go too crazy. Our friends have been out of town for a few weeks so i'm hoping next week to have a play group, we'll see.

This month we are also getting ready for our MT trip. It'll be nice to get with my family and enjoy talking with them and having the cousins play around with eachother. Jordon hasn't seen them since he was a week old, so it'll be nice for him to interact with them. It'll also be nice to get away from this heat and go somewhere where the highest it gets is 85-90 degrees! Can't wait.

Nothing else is really going on besides that, we had a great 4th of July and can't wait for our big trip with Jordon(pray for us, we may need all the help we can get!)

Take care!

Victory! I feel so good, and tired!

Daddy and I prepping before the big 5K Run! Go #46! We Love You!
Our flags we made, if you can't see what they say, the one Jordon is trying to hold, says "My Daddy Is Faster Than Your Daddy" and I'm holding the sign that says, "Go #46, Go Daddy, We Love You".
A few minutes before the race, I think Jordon is watching the racers from the 1 mile Fun Run.
Grandpa and I waiting for Daddy!
Grandma and I!
I want to dig a hole with my flag!
Isn't this so cool guys!
I Love Aunty Megan!
Chris after his race! He dumped the rest of the water all over himself after the run, in Texas these runs should be earlier than 8 am, it was really a warm morning to go running. But Chris did great, he made 3 miles in 28 minutes! Go Chris!
Sure glad to be back with my family after a big race!

Waiting for the parade
This year Jordon didn't get scared by all the loud noise. During the Christmas parade he was quite scared, I guess he's getting used to louder noise.

Definitely can't have a good parade without the puppies!
OUR 4TH OF JULY!
What a thrill to be able to join in a group of people a run for 3 miles. It has been a long time since I've done anything like this, so I feel pumped, energized, and happy to achieve my goal of running faster than a mile in 10 minutes. One small step for a runner, one major milestone for me. I'd like to thank Darlene, Jordon, and everyone out there that gave me all the encouragement and support while I trained.

This morning I woke up and let the dog we were "dog-sitting" have a walk and move my muscles a bit. Then Darlene, a sleepy Jordon, and I went to Stewart's Creek Park for the race. It went far better than I would have hoped. There's just something about running with a bunch of people that helped me run faster than before. Luckily I remembered that I needed to keep going at a steady pace or I'd be a goner by the last mile. I'll get the results later, but I was so glad to see that my time was better then my last runs independently by running around 28 minutes! Here a video we've put together for the Fourth of July weekend, hope you enjoy. Have a safe summer!
jk, no video, we made one and it wouldn't go onto blogger, if anyone has any tips on how to get videos onto blogger let us know, thanks! Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Have a great week!

15 Month Checkup

Today, Jordon went in for his 15 month checkup and I was astounded by what the dr said, i for some reason think i feed him too much(every 2 hours or so). I always think that he shouldnt be eating as much as he is but the dr said that he is just a big tall skinny boy who needs the fuel every 2 hours to keep up with his activity level and his tall body build.

He weighed in at 22 lbs 10.5 oz and is now 33 inches tall. He wears 18-24 month clothing now and can fit in to a few 12 month clothing but not too many. He had his DTAP shot and a PCV shot. He takes the shots well, but will scream while he's being poked but as long as mommy is there afterwards he calms down.

He said that he would hope by his 18 month checkup he would be walking, he takes a step here and there and loves to cruise, but his passion is crawling. He absolutely loves to climb up stairs, he knows exactly where the toys are at Grandma's house, he goes right to the stairs, climbs, and crawls as fast as he can to their toys. It's hilarious.

He is also doing a lot better at falling asleep by himself. We kindof have a system that we do, since he is so sensitive to us leaving and has a huge gag reflex. Nap times he goes down fine around 11 or so with me still patting his back a bit, but at bed time i make him do the falling asleep by himself. We put him in his crib no later than 7:30 and stay with him with us pretending to sleep on the floor. We stay there for about 15 minutes and sneak out the door while he's still trying to fall asleep. It works better since he knows the first part of going down we're still there to help him calm down. He's just a boy that doesn't want to be left behind. But at least now when we sneak out he doesn't puke, he may babble and whine calling out mamma over and over but he will fall asleep just fine. So proud of our JOrdon.

We are getting ready for the 4th of JUly weekend, with the Ward Breakfast, Chris 5k run, and the parade. It'll be lots of fun. That's about it for this week, we sure enjoyed having Megan and the puppies over. Jordon had so much fun with Aunty Megan and giving snuggles and having play time. Here's a cute picture of Jordon and Megan one day!
Love you guys, Take Care!

I love my Aunty Megan!
Me practicing my yoga move! No, actually this is what i start to do when i get tired, i do this over and over again until i fall asleep.

I just love feet, oh so tasty, doesn't matter who's foot it is either!
