Jordon Rolled Over!

What an exciting day! Jordon has finally rolled over. He was looking up at Chris's book he was reading and over he went. It was very unexpected. So far he's only done it just once but at least he has officially rolled over. He wanted to do it before tomorrow which marks his 5 month birthday! Just a quick post to let you know how he's doing. Maybe we'll get a video of him doing it.

Look at Me!

Here is our little Jordon growing and growing and liking his camera time!

I thought i'd try to put a video on the blog. Chris helped me, one of these days i'll be adventureous to try it myself. He is babbling to me in this video, he sure loves to stand. He is almost 5 months old now, trying to catch up with Beth. He can roll to his side pretty good, can roll really good to his side without a diaper on. He knows how to scoot, so that's his way of being mobile right now. He has some strong leg muscles. I think he'll be a runner one day.
He had a lot of fun with gramma and grampa this weekend. We celebrated Chris's birthday early on Sunday so Dad could party with him. We enjoyed the time spent, it's been quite a summer with everyone traveling. Mom and Dad have been in Utah and Colorado visiting family, and then just returned from Florida having their summer vacation with Kacey and Megan before school started. Bonnie and Clyde were very happy to go back home, even though they like spending time at our house too. We have had a very hot summer, but it's slowly getting back down to bearable weather. I survived my first real texas summer! Barely.

Here's an updated photo of our family. Sorry Jordon's a bit naked. It seems i do less laundry if he's naked, he still spits up quite a bit. One day i'll get him back into solids. It might not be until he's almost 6 months old, but we'll see. He seems to be doing just fine right now, so until he starts to wake up again in the middle of the night i'll just stick to what i'm doing.
Jordon has a laugh that is contagious, as you can see, Chris is trying hard not to break out in laughter!

It is always nice when the weekends come. I get a bit of a break and everyone else can take turns with helping with Jordon. He loves his attention, but he loves his down time too and just playi8ng by himself. Church is always rough on him, everyone likes to hold him, sometimes he gets very overstimulated. The 1 year old girls at church love to flirt with him. He's not even dating material yet! Watch out!

Chris is taking off hopefully this afternoon so he can come home and have a couple days off for his birthday, otherwise he'll be taking off Tuesday and Wednesday. He wants to go to Spring Creek Barbeque and to go to Sears so he can get his hydrualic car jack and to fill his garage with other tools. 28 years old, im afraid we're getting old! Well, enjoy the pictures and we'll update you later!

Go Jordon Go!

Our little Jordon is growing so much! Almost 5 months old now and he's still not rolling over yet, but i'm not too worried. He's doing good at his tummy time and is starting to rock, you know he wants to do it but he needs more arm strength and will power. Watch him be the kid that starts to roll over and crawl at the same time. But he is doing good with his sitting and standing skills. He does pretty good sitting in his high chair for daddy but not mommy. He's trying to adjust over to not being next to me for every feeding. It's a little traumatic for him. He does ok getting the food down but still has spit up problems so i think i'll wait a while to see how hungry he gets without the one a day serving of cereal. until he has a better hold on his reflux or spitting up problem. This week we have the puppies again while Mom and Dad, Kacey, and Megan are in Florida. They'll be back on Saturday. Just in time to celebrate Chris's birthday on the following Tuesday. He'll be 28, how time flies. Nothing too much is new around here, just doing same old stuff. Thought i'd update with some more cute pictures. Some of them are a little blurry because when he gets excited and laughs he wiggles too much for the camera but they're good enough to see. So until next week, aurevoir!

We Did It!

Well, everyone, we tried rice cereal tonight with Jordon and he was able to do it, miracles of miracles. He was stubborn at first when i tried to do it. He pursed his lips together and wouldn't open his mouth. But i let Chris try to do it and he was persistent and was able to somehow get him to open his mouth and try some. He got frustrated and cried a bit and didn't know what he was doing, but after a while he got the hang of it and started to want more and more. He was hungry!
But we are so proud of our Jordon, growing up so fast and learning new things. He looks so tiny in the highchair but is able to sit there along with some extra support of blankets around him. It took a lot out of him and he was tired afterwards but very cranky until i comforted him along with a paci.
We hope you enjoy the pictures, we take a lot of pictures but it is so much fun. enjoy, we'll send more updates later.

Rice Cereal

Well, Chris and I are going to be adventurous parents. Our little boy is growing up too fast and he's getting hungry a lot more. So tonight we're going to attempt to give him rice cereal and see how he does. We'll send pictures of it later and tell you how it went. Wish us good luck!

Jordon's Appt

Today Jordon had his 4 month checkup. He is doing great. He measured in at 14 lbs 10.5 oz and 26 inches long! He is in the 75th percentile for heighth and 25-50th percentile for weight. So he is definitely an Alleman, tall and skinny. He got his second round of shots, 5 in total. 4 in the legs and the oral rotovirus. He did ok, wasn't very happy at all, i had to keep myself from crying with him. It's always so hard as a parent to watch your child be hurt, but after some cuddling and reasurance by Mommy he was fine. He's a little doped up on Tylenol today so he's been sleeping alot. But the dr said he is looking good and both of his heart murmurs from birth are gone. What a relief. We'll be probably starting him on rice cereal this weekend, since at night time he's been getting extra hungry. He's growing up so fast. He is such a joy to be around.

He was so exhuasted one day, he fell asleep to his active music!

What a Week!

These last couple of weeks have been quite interesting. Mom, Dad, and Megan were out of town visiting family in Utah and Colorado and we were able to have two extra "kids" in the family. Bonnie and Clyde. They gave us plenty of company, felt bad for not being able to get their daily walks in,,,a little difficult. Imagine pushing a stroller and trying to walk two very hyper dogs during a walk. Not happening. We had a couple of storms in Texas, but nothing serious. I'm so glad we don't live near the coast. Tropical storms must not be very fun. I couldn't imagine. But we did get a couple days of cooler weather. It has been in the triple digits for a month now. Very dry and hot, Jordon and I haven't gone out at all that much except the occasional trip to the library or store. I have been trying to sleep train him a bit. Chris and I would usually rock him to sleep a bit and then put him in his crib, but i can't rock him forever. NOw i am trying to see when he's exhausted with rubbing his eyes and put him in his crib and turn on his mobile and church music and have him do the soothing himself to sleep method. It was rough at first but now he's getting the hang of it, except at night. I think i might have to get a very dim light bulb to put in his lamp cause the night light isn't cutting it. The moment he's sleepy and put down, he wakes up crying frantically. Any advice is welcome. This week has also been a bit rough because he hasn't been sleeping for his naps as long as normal or that he should. But i think i have an incling thanks to mom. I believe he is officially trying to teeth. Mom and I looked in his mouth and there were white spots in his gums. I have to go in his room to rock him a bit in the afternoon nap because he wakes up an hour after i put him down and he needs 2 hours not 1. I believe, well we'll see, that he might be weaned off of me in a couple of months. It depends how fast the teeth come in. Please No Biting! Next tuesday is his 4 month checkup. Teething and shots, doesn't sound good to me. But it has to be done. He's been a bit congested lately so i also need to check on that to see if it's the bad summer or a sinus infection. But he's doing good, such a good boy, keeps me very entertained with his smiles, giggles, and new things he does. Sorry if i post too much about Jordon, but he is what keeps me very occupied these days. I think i need to get around more adults!

Today is Jordon's official 4 month old birthday. I thought i'd send some pictures of him. i try to get his smile on camera cause he's a great smiler and giggler, but he gets camera shy sometimes. Today he actually got so excited with his music that he pulled on the dangly octopus on his gym and made it make its noise! it's very exciting, he was shocked when he did it that he just dropped his hand after he did it. It's so great to see him grow right before our eyes. i'm very amazed at his growth. Well enjoy the pics!
